Pay It Forward

The postpartum stage has been recognized in many cultures from four to six weeks, spanning longer in some. Some of the pillars of this time are retreat, warmth, support, rest and ritual. Postpartum mothers, regardless of their birth stories, have a need for nourishing foods that are appropriate for their recovery and the nurturing of their baby. The act of receiving simple, warming foods allows mothers to rest longer, feel supported and heal their bodies.

Although nutrition plays a major role in recovery after birth, many mothers do not have a community or family members with the time or money to help them prepare healthy meals. If you have received your meal support for free or partial subsidy, or simply care for a beloved mother in your community, you can help us to continue providing meals and resources for new mothers by paying forward. Your contribution will be used to directly support the next mother who applies for a subsidized meal plan. Click the pay it forward button to make your donation below.
